A stonework business built in Garissa, for Garissa
Deltarstone started with two masons, one truck, and a belief that quality stonework shouldn't require importing a contractor from Nairobi.
Who we are and how we got here
Deltarstone was founded in 2016 by two Garissa-based masons who had spent nearly a decade working on construction sites across North Eastern Kenya. The frustration that drove them to start their own outfit was simple: clients in Garissa were either settling for substandard rubble work done cheaply, or paying a premium to bring teams from Nairobi who didn't know the local stone, the local ground, or the local weather patterns. Deltarstone was set up to close that gap. Today the business operates from a small yard on Iftin Estate Road with a core crew of six — three trained masons, two skilled labourers, and one site coordinator who manages scheduling and material deliveries. We serve homeowners building their first boundary wall, landlords upgrading multi-unit rental blocks, and small developers specifying stone finishes for guesthouses and commercial premises. Every job we take stays within a scope we can resource honestly. We don't stretch the crew across five simultaneous sites to chase revenue — one or two active projects at a time, finished properly.
How we work — and what we won't promise
Our process is direct. You contact us, we visit your site within two working days, we measure and assess ground conditions, and we hand you a written estimate that separates materials from labour. No oral quotes that change on day one. Once you approve, we agree a start date and a realistic duration range — not an optimistic figure designed to win the job. Stone selection happens with you present: we bring samples from the yard and place them against your existing structure in the actual Garissa light, because stone colour shifts significantly between an indoor showroom and a north-facing compound wall at noon. What we don't do: we don't take on reinforced concrete structural work, we don't supply plumbing or electrical within stone surfaces (though we'll work alongside those contractors), and we don't guarantee natural stone against weathering beyond three years in cases where persistent ground moisture is identified at scope stage. We're straightforward about the limits of the material and the limits of our trade. That honesty is what keeps clients coming back — and what keeps our neighbourhood reputation intact after eight years of working in this town.
“I've hired three different contractors for stonework on my properties in Garissa over the years. Deltarstone is the only one that handed me a written estimate before touching the site, turned up on the agreed date, and finished within the quoted range. Simple things — but rare.”
